Recently, China's first 10MWh sodium-ion battery energy storage station in the field of renewable energy storage has been officially put into operation in Nanning, Guangxi. This marks the first large-scale application of sodium-ion battery energy storage technology in China. Sifang Automation provided an integrated energy storage monitoring and management platform for this project, incorporating functions such as step-up substation SCADA, AGC/AVC, frequency/voltage regulation, etc., to support the safe and efficient operation of the sodium-ion energy storage system.
The sodium-ion battery technology adopted in this project has become a new and highly anticipated electrochemical energy storage option due to its unique advantages in safety and cost. Sifang Automation actively participated in the construction of the sodium-ion battery energy storage station, providing a monitoring and energy management platform tailored to the station's needs. Additionally, based on the characteristics of sodium-ion batteries, Sifang developed functional modules such as optimized charge-discharge control, intelligent battery diagnosis and analysis, and battery safety warnings, specifically suited for large-capacity sodium-ion energy storage scenarios. These contributions facilitated the smooth commissioning of the Guangxi Fulin Sodium-Ion Battery Energy Storage Station.
